Celebrate Fall in Alvin, Texas

With the changing of the season come kids going back to school and getting back to more of a routine. The community of Alvin loves to ring in cooler weather by relaxing and celebrating all that autumn has to offer.

For visitors and locals alike, enjoying the historical sites, going antique shopping, and getting out in nature for family-friendly adventures are just part of what makes this town special. Here are some things to do this fall to entertain young and old.

Disc Golf After Dark

Alvin boasts the country’s only dedicated night lit disc golf course at Briscoe Park. It is 18 holes of fun in a 42-acre course. You can certainly do this course during the day, but after the sun goes down, the place lights up and you are immersed in nature, with walking trail access. The course lights are on until 10:30pm, so bring your frisbee and have some fun.

ACC Fall Festival 2021

Join Alvin Community College on October 30th for the Fall Festival. This is where the residents of Alvin really let their “freak flag fly” in celebration of Halloween. Located behind the Health Science Building on the ACC campus, it is an evening of ghoulish fun for the whole family. From 5-9pm, there will be tasty food, great games, and a costume contest (both adults and kids can participate). Join in the fun, if you dare!

1820 Coffeehouse Brain Grinder Trivia

Yes, even Alvin has a trivia night. Held the second Friday of every month, join in the fun on November 12th at the 1820 Coffeehouse. Come on out and show everyone how much you know. Or just grab a beverage and dessert, sit back, and absorb the knowledge of others! Participants can sign up with their own team, or individuals can sign up to join a team. It’s a great way to get to know other trivia buffs. The entry fee is only ten bucks and team size is limited to four. A grand prize is awarded to the winning team.

Fall Festival at Froberg’s Farm

Every weekend beginning September 25 and ending November 7, don’t miss the best fall festival celebration in Alvin. Kids and adults alike will love the corn maze, it’s always a hit! Walk the Flower Garden and pick your own flowers to take home. Other activities include the Plastic Duck Races, Emoji Cannon, Friendly Fare (a nerf ball shootout), and Bee Coaster. Explore Berry Fun Land and the famous pumpkin patch, with pumpkins for purchase and great photo ops.

Alvin Historical Museum

See both permanent and rotating exhibits that tell of Alvin’s rich history and its important role in the shaping of Texas. Did you know that Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan calls Alvin his hometown? Explore fascinating war memorabilia, historical currency exhibits, and the hidden treasures of Alvin’s unique history. The Alvin Museum Society has a range of special activities going on throughout the year, and fall is no exception. They may include private tours, special presentations, school visits, a Night at the Museum, and more.
