Spring 2021 Events Near Alvin, TX
The folks of south Texas are gearing up for warmer weather and what promises to be an amazing year ahead. Local and visitors alike are looking forward to getting out in celebration, and planning for some incredible events around Alvin and south Houston during the Spring months. Here are just a few of the best things to do near Alvin, TX.
March 26, 27 – Alvin Music Festival and Cookoff
Located at Briscoe Park, up to 60 BBQ teams will compete for your tastebuds in this two-day, family-friendly event. There is a separate kid’s area, and a stage that will feature local and regional music. Get to know the BBQ competitors and their recipes, and why some of them have been returning year after year to compete in this cookoff. Admission is $10-$20.
April 1 – Adult Easter Egg Hunt
Leave the kids to their own party and come join other grownups at Bob Briscoe Park in our very own Easter egg hunt! Think you’re too old? Think again! Alvin Parks and Recreation will be hosting the 2nd annual adult egg hunt on Thursday, so get in on the fun! Eggs will be filled with chocolate, as well as awesome prizes and tickets to drop into the Golden Egg prize raffle. April 17 – Brrrtual Flea Houston
Located at Sawyer Yard just 30 miles up the road in Houston, this regional outdoor market is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. An open-air market where guests and vendors come together in the spirit of fun and unique shopping. Vendors from all over the country come here to showcase their amazing vintage finds of all genres and styles. This is an all-day event from 9am to 5pm, and tickets are $15.
April 24 – Frontier Day – Alvin, TX
Held annually, this year’s festivities will be located National Oak Park and surrounding parking lots. Folks from all over the area join in for a day of fun. Enjoy food vendors, arts and crafts, a car and bike show, a pie baking contest, a dunking booth, and plenty of activities for the kids. There will be a “saloon” beer garden for adults 21+ to sit and relax, play corn hole and other activities while listening to the bands play. The Frontier Day Parade will roll through downtown Alvin at 9am, and the Alvin Rotary Club Gunfighters will perform their popular “shoot-out” twice throughout the day.
May 29 – Houston Food Fest
Houston’s premier food festival is on at Midtown Park! Sample incredibly delicious food from over 70 vendors from Houston, Austin, and surrounding environs. You know there WILL be amazing BBQ involved! Plus, everything from tacos to gumbo to vegan burgers, and ice cream (and more!) for dessert. In addition to the food, there will be fun activities for the whole family, including a musical lineup of local bands rocking the stage all day. Tickets are $5-$9.
